Lonar Lake, Sur Sarovar named Wetlands Of International Importance

Lonar Lake in Maharashtra and Sur Sarovar in Agra have been named by India as wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention, shares the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar.

'Wetlands are the world's natural water filters & one of the most productive ecosystems on the planet,' Javadekar explained.
