The Railway Employees Union of Lumding held a candle march in protest against the alleged gangrape of the 20-year old woman in Hathras, UP. The protest rally was to demand for justice for the victim who died two weeks after she was allegedly gangraped and brutally assaulted by four upper caste men on September 14. The protesters demanded safety and security for every woman of the country and urged the government to take immediate steps to punish the guilty in the Hathras case. The protesters demand death sentence for the offenders. They hoped that stringent laws would be introduced to put an end to crime against women.
