Peru has suspended the entrance to Machu Picchu due to a protest over local train services, that blocked the only railroad to reach the tourist hotspot.

Many local Peruvians are discouraged from visiting the citadel because they claim they cannot find tickets available in the lowest priced wagons, an AP report said.

The local communities are demanding more frequent trains and cheaper fares in the route between Cusco and Machu Picchu.
