The Maharashtra government has launched a separate probe against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, according to a report in the The Indian Express. The investigation will be conducted by IPS officer Sanjay Pandey and will focus on how officers like Sachin Waze who directly reported to Singh, went rogue while working under him.

The probe will also look at why did the former commissioner not share any detailed report with the state govt regarding the Ambani terror scare case at the earliest.

While the CBI is investigating Singh's allegations of corruption against Maharashtra's former home Minister Anil Deshmukh, reports say a departmental inquiry could be launched against Singh if anything is found incriminating and it may lead to his suspension.
