Mahindra and Mahindra has appointed Dr Anish Shah as its new MD and CEO, with effect from April 2, 2021. Dr Shah is currently serving as the deputy managing director and the group chief financial officer for the company. He replaces Dr Pawan Goenka, who will retire as MD and CEO and as a member, board of directors, at Mahindra on April 2. Dr Goenka had a 27-year run with Mahindra and had the oversight of the auto and farm equipment sectors. These will now be headed by Rajesh Jejurikar, who will report to Dr Shah. This is the first time in the history of the company that an MD and CEO will have complete oversight and responsibility for the Mahindra Group businesses. Dr Anish Shah joined Mahindra in 2015 as the Group President - Strategy, where he led strategy development; built capabilities such as digitisation and data sciences; enabled synergies across Group companies and managed the Risk and performance review organisations. Prior to joining Mahindra, Dr Shah was President and CEO of GE Capital India.
