West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has filed an election petition before the Calcutta High Court challenging Suvendu Adhikari's Nandigram win. The CM has pleaded the court to declare the Nandigram result as null and void.

The court on Friday deferred the hearing to June 24.

The Trinamool Congress supremo, in her petition, has accused Adhikari of committing corrupt practises, including "bribery, undue influence and spreading enmity".

She has also claimed that there were discrepancies in the counting process.

Former aide-turned-rival Suvendu joined the BJP ahead of the recent Bengal polls and defeated the TMC in Nandigram even as her party swept the polls.
