Mamata pens letter to Oppn leaders to ‘unite against BJP’

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to ten opposition leaders to unite against what she termed ‘assaults’ on democracy by the BJP government.

The letter, which was released by the Trinamool Congress on Wednesday, highlights Mamata’c serious concerns about BJP’s attack on the constitutional federalism of the country.

Warning about establishment of a one-party authoritarian rule, the letter mentions the controversial new law that gives Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor more powers over the elected government.

The TMC chief called for a united and effective struggle against the Bhartiya Janta Party.

Barring CPI and CPI(M), the letter has been addressed to the heads of Congress, NCP, DMK, Shiv Sena, YSRCP, BJD, TRS, Samajwadi Party, RJD and AAP.
