After the day-long cliffhanger in Nandigram, Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee lost to former aide Suvendu Adhikari even as her party scored a landslide in West Bengal. The CM alleged "some mischief" in Nandigram, which saw both the candidates leading and trailing alternatively through Sunday. At one point the CM was even declared winner, but Adhikari was announced as final winner by a slim margin of 1,956 voted late at night. Mamata has said that she will move court against the Nandigram result even as the Election Commission late of Sunday night rejected the TMC's request for a recount.
