Man from Nihang sect surrenders, claims responsibility for Singhu border killing

Saravjit Singh, a Sikh man from the Nihang sect has been arrested after he surrendered to the Haryana Police claiming responsibility for killing a Dalit labourer whose body was found at the Singhu border on Friday morning. 

35-year-old Lakhbir Singh's body was found tied to a police barricade with his limbs chopped off. According to the police, Lakhbir Singh belonged to Punjab's Tarn Taran district. 

Some videos that have been circulated show a group of men dressed as Nihangs - an armed warrior sect - surrounding Lakhbir Singh. 

A group called Nirvair Khalsa-Udna Dal claimed they killed Singh for allegedly disrespecting their holy book.
