Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday said that the Supreme Court verdict quashing the law granting reservation to the Maratha community in admissions and government jobs in the state was “unfortunate”.

He also urged the Prime Minister and the President to take an urgent decision on the matter of granting reservation to the Maratha reservation.

Meanwhile, Congress leader and state minister Ashok Chavan criticised former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for passing misleading the people.

The BJP meanwhile hit back, saying the Uddhav govt failed to convince the apex court.
