Matthew Perry, best known for playing Chandler Bing in American sitcom Friends, will write an "unflinchingly honest" autobiography.

The as-yet-untitled book, will be published in the autumn of 2022, taking readers "behind-the-scenes" on era-defining sitcom Friends, according to publishers Flatiron Books.

The book will also delve into his struggles with addiction. His appearance on the show changed as his weight fluctuated drastically due to his drug problems.

Perry is the first "Friends" cast member to release a book.
