A Mumbai court directed Kangana Ranaut to appear before the court in the defamation case filed by lyricist Javed Akhtar.

Kangana's advocate told the court that actress could not attend Tuesday's hearing as she was out of the country and that she had sought exemption from her personal appearance

The court has now granted last chance to Kangana and made it clear that a bailable warrant will be issued against the actress if she fails to appear for the next hearing.

Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case after Kangana claimed that he had threatened her to withdraw a case against actor Hrithik Roshan in one of her interviews.
