Aryan Khan's co-accused and friend Arbaaz Merchantt's father, Aslam Merchantt, has finally broken his silence on his son's arrest in connection with the Mumbai drugs on cruise case.

In an interview with Times Now, Aslam Merchantt, who is a lawyer, said that the allegations made against his son and Aryan are 'completely baseless' and both of them are 'innocent'.

Reacting to reports that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 5 grams of charas from his son, Aslam said, "They are all baseless allegations, but the case is under investigation and it would be very premature to state anything"

He further added that the NCB has been very cooperative, and very nice to the kids and being a lawyer he has full faith in the judiciary. He said 'the truth will prevail and they will come out scot free'.

On the claims that illegal substances were found during the raid, Aslam Merchantt said, "Whatever was found, was found inside the ship, not outside and the two boys didn't even enter the ship, they were guests".

The NCB on Monday claimed before a Mumbai court that 'shocking and incriminating' material was recovered in WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan and two others arrested in connection with the case, that alluded to links with international drug trafficking.
