Mumbai reports single-day rise of over 2,500 Covid-19 cases

Mumbai on Wednesday reported a single-day rise of 2,510 Covid-19 cases, along with one death and 251 recoveries. 

The city current has over 8,000 active cases. It had recorded 1,377 cases on Tuesday, contributing heavily to the statewide tally of 2,172.

According to the data shared by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai's recovery rate is 97%, while the growth rate of Covid-19 cases in the city from December 22 to 28 was 0.10%.

Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope had expressed concern over the rising number of cases in the state and said that the govt may have to impose curbs to restrict the spread of the novel coronavirus.
