Social distancing went for a toss as people thronged markets and liquor stores ahead of a week-long lockdown in Nagpur. hundreds of people were seen flouting social distancing norms at the Cotton Market, many not even wearing masks. Big crowds were also seen at liquor shops. Amid a spike in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, the state government on Thursday decided to impose a lockdown in Nagpur district from March 15 to 21. Only essential services such as vegetable and fruit shops and milk booths will stay open, according to the order issued by the Nagpur district administration.
