Narendra Giri suicide note: 'threatened over morphed image with woman'

The head of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Narendra Giri who allegedly died by suicide on Monday, was under pressure over what he called a "morphed image with a woman'

In a handwritten suicide letter recovered from his room, the seer held his disciple Anand Giri and Hanuman temple priest Aadya Tiwari responsible for his death. Booked for abetment to suicide, Anand Giri and Aadya Tiwari have been sent to 14 days in judicial custody.

The note shared by a senior government official on a media group mentioned the seer reportedly wrote that Anand Giri was going to attempt circulating a "morphed image" of him with a woman to 'bring him shame'. He also wrote that 'it was better to die than to live with shame'. He further mentioned in his note that he was deeply disturbed by Anand Giri's false allegations of financial irregularities.

The Uttar Pradesh government has formed a special investigating team (SIT) to probe the circumstances surrounding the seer's death.
