Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Vir Das' comedy special on Netflix bags Emmy nomination

A proud moment for Indian fans. 'Aarya' starring Sushmita Sen, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and standup comic Vir Das' comedy special on Netflix, have bagged an International Emmy nomination each.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations for all 11 categories on Thursday. Nawazuddin was nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in the film 'Serious Men' which released on Netflix last year. ‘Vir Das: For India’, the comedy special also on Netflix, earned a nomination in the Best Comedy category.

While this is Vir Das' first International Emmy nomination, Nawaz's previous projects like 'Sacred Games' and 'McMafia' have been nominated in the past.

Sushmita Sen's 'Aarya' bagged a nomination for the Best Drama series category. The winners for all 11 categories will be announced at the 49th International Emmy Awards on 22 November 2021.
