In some good news, over 3,000 hectares will be added to the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, aiding movement of tigers from Kaziranga to neighbouring parks as well as reducing the frequency of 'negative' human-wildlife interaction.

The 7th, 8th and 9th additions which were approved by the Assam government, include areas from where encroachment has been removed.

The new addition will increase the area of Kaziranga National Park to 914 sq km.
