Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday reached out to protesting farmers hours before the sixth round of talks between farmers and the govt. In interview to ANI, Singh condemned those calling the protesting farmers naxal and khalistanis. "Such allegations should not be made by anyone against farmers. We express our deepest respect towards farmers. They are 'annadatas'", Singh said. He also added that the Modi govt has farmers welfare at its heart. Rajnath once again assured the farmers that the MSP system will continue.
