Australia's assistant coach Andrew McDonald is confident that Pat Cummins and Steve Smith will strike a great partnership in the Ashes series.
He said that you've got a former captain underneath the new captain, which is a really good dynamic. Pat Cummins will draw upon that experience and he has got other senior players around him as well, added McDonald.

After Tim Paine stepped down as Australia's Test skipper, fast bowler Pat Cummins was named as the 47th Test captain of Australia just days ahead of the start of the Ashes series against England. Steve Smith was also brought back into the leadership role and was appointed as Cummins' deputy.
