Sachin Tendulkar, who retired from international cricket eight years ago, is still influencing many as he was adjudged the world's 12th Most Admired Man ahead of many Indian celebrities.
The survey was conducted by YouGov, which is an internet-based market research and data analytics firm.
While in the list of sportspersons, Sachin is third on the list behind footballers Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the overall list, Tendulkar is ahead of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, India captain Virat Kohli and former US President Donald Trump.
Kohli is at distant 18th position in the list of world's Most Admired Man.
The list was compiled after surveying more than 42,000 people in 38 countries and territories.
