After bowling out England for mere 183, India were sailing smoothly in the 1st Test as the openers put together a 97-run stand. But after Rohit Sharma got out, James Anderson dragged the hosts back into the contest with 2 wickets on consecutive deliveries, including Indian skipper Virat Kohli for a golden duck.
Ajinkya Rahane too fell to a mix-up as India were reduced to 112/4. KL Rahul though reached his 12th Test half-century and is unbeaten on 57. Rishabh Pant tried to counter attack before rain forced early stumps on Day 2. India are 125/4 and trail England by 58 runs.
