A delegation of 15 Opposition MPs reached Ghazipur border on Thursday morning to meet the protesting farmers. The delegation included MPs from Trinamool, DMK, Akali Dal and NCP among others. The MPs were stopped at the barricades erected by the police at a distance from the farmers protest site. The MPs slammed the govt for heavy barricading around the protest calling it worst than a prison. Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Badal said that the Speaker has not been allowing a discussion on the farmers issue in Parliament and that is why the MPs have come to meet farmers.
