According to a new study published in the journal Nature Communications, organically produced meat is no better for the environment than conventionally farmed meat.
Organic livestock grow at a slower pace hence emitting more gases via their manure. They also produce lesser meat.
Researchers also estimated how meat should be priced in order to cover its associated climate costs.
They further added that there is a need for policies such as 'meat taxes' so consumers pay for their 'climate damaging' diets.
