Speaking on the need to use technology to conserve water in agriculture, UNDP's Dilip Singh stressed on the need to to educate the community to use technological solutions for water woes. Some of these methods include, AI and IoT based irrigation, community water budgeting and agromet advisories where farmers can plan irrigation based on updates from automatic weather stations. Such initiatives, he said can be started as a small project that can then be used as pilot for larger interventions.
