Paralympics: India's Praveen Kumar wins silver in Men's high jump T64 event

India's high jumper Praveen Kumar won a silver medal in the men's high jump T64 event at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics as the country's medal haul went to 11. The 18-year-old set a new Asian record with a 2.07m jump to finish behind Great Britain's Jonathan Broom-Edwards who had a successful outing with 2.10m for the gold. 

The ongoing Paralympic Games are turning out to be India's best ever as the country has claimed two gold, six silver and three bronze medals so far. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes as Praveen stood on the podium. PM Modi said that this medal is the result of Praveen's hard work and unparalleled dedication.
