A teacher in Paris who had shown caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed in class was on Friday beheaded by an assailant who was later shot dead by the police. French anti-terror prosecutors said they were investigating the assault which happened on the outskirts of Paris near a school. Reports said that the victim was a history teacher who recently discussed caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed in class. French President Emmanuel Macron arrived on Friday night at a school in a Paris suburb where a history teacher was decapitated. Prosecutors said they were treating the incident as "a murder linked to a terrorist organisation" and related to a "criminal association with terrorists". Last month, a 25-year old Pakistani man had wounded two people in a meat cleaver attack to avenge the publication of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed by the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo.
