AIMA Conclave: Speaking at AIMA’s National Leadership Conclave 2022, a panel including Vinita Bajoria, Chairperson, Nicco Cables Ltd; Sanjukta Parashar, IPS Officer; Loveleen Tandan Film Director (Co‐Director, Slumdog Millionaire); Shinjini Kumar, Co‐founder, SALT, and Bindu Subramaniam, Co‐founder and CEO, SaPa talk about how a woman balances all her roles seemingly and effortlessly like a trapeze artist in today’s world.
Vinita Bajoria, Chairperson, Nicco Cables said being true to herself and having the courage of conviction to follow her dreams helped her to reach this level.
“When I was getting married at the age of 18 and I wanted to complete my college, I was asked by my headmistress, why I wanted to study further when ideally, I should be focusing on my family. I took it up as a challenge by not only completing my college but by getting an MBA degree while raising two young children and working,” Vinita said this experience gave her courage to try and help other women.
Vinita also pointed out that women thrive in the VUCA world that we live in today, which is the world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, as they are constantly reinventing themselves by learning, unlearning, and relearning to fit into various roles.
Shinjini Kumar, Co‐founder, SALT said, “the biggest message that women need to take from any of this conversation is just to stay on because it is hard and there is no way that you can underestimate the challenge.”
Sanjukta Parashar, IPS Officer talked about the underrepresentation of women in police and how the perception of a cop is a man in uniform.
Loveleen Tandan, a Film Director by profession, believes that she brings something special to the table because she is a woman and it's not because of just her obsession with cinema.
