Maruti Suzuki India has kickstarted 2022 with the launch of the new-generation Celerio CNG. The Celerio CNG arrives in a single variant priced at Rs. 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The new Celerio CNG is the sixth CNG-equipped car from Maruti in the country and is available in the VXi variant. It’s priced at a premium of Rs. 45,000 over the corresponding petrol variants.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG features
The CNG variant of the Celerio gets the factory-fitted CNG kit with a tank capacity of 60 litres. The kit is paired with the 1.0-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT K-Series engine that develops 56 bhp and 82.1 Nm of peak torque. That’s about 8 bhp and 7 Nm less than the petrol-powered version. The automaker claims that the new Celerio CNG returns a fuel efficiency figure of 35.60 km per kg.
The Celerio CNG arrives right in time as Tata Motors is all set to launch the Tiago and Tigor CNG later this week. The model will also compete with the Hyundai Santro CNG already on sale.
