S. Jaishankar said that India is seeking to block the Russian diamond ban by the West. He said New Delhi is trying to “delay or prevent” the embargo imposed last month.

While visiting the Indian diamond processing hub of Surat, Jaishankar stated that the Russian diamond ban by the EU and G7 is hurting India.  Led by Surat, the Indian diamond industry polishes 9 out of 10 stones mined globally.
