People bid good riddance to bad memories in 2020 at Times Square

Times Square in New York City saw people line up with pieces of paper, on which they had spelt out things they wish to leave behind in 2020, as a part of a shredding event.

It seemed like almost everyone had coronavirus on their list. Others bid goodbye to financial troubles, fake friends and bad energy.

It was a part of the 14th annual Good Riddance Day in the run up to the New Year's Eve ball drop.
