In a bid to revive tourism, Thailand will do away with quarantine requirements for vaccinated foreign visitors arriving at the island of Phuket from the 1st of July.
According to a Bloomberg report, a proposal to vaccinate 70% of the islands' residents to prepare for the reopening for vaccinated tourists, was approved by a panel chaired by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha.
The phased reopening will be tested with Phuket, before being expanded to other tourist hotspots, relying on the tourism industry.
