Pind Clinics to free healthcare: Kejriwal's six promises to Punjab

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday promises six “health guarantees” to the people of Punjab if his party -- the Aam Aadmi Party -- came to power in the state in the next years Assembly election.

Kejriwal has promised to implement the Delhi health model in Punjab. This will include:

Free and best treatment to every Punjab resident

All medicines, tests, operations to be free of cost in government hospitals in the state. "Even costly operations costing ₹15 lakh will be free," Kejriwal said.

Every Punjab citizen will get a health card. That card will have all the information and reports pertaining to the person.

16,000 Pind Clinics will be opened on the lines of Delhi's Mohalla Clinics.

The AAP chief promised that infrastructure of all government hospitals in state will be improved and they will be made fully air-conditioned

In case of accident, the person will be rushed to the nearest hospital and the cost will be borne by the Punjab Government irrespective of whether it is a private or govt hospital, the Delhi CM said.
