PM Modi's cabinet reshuffle: Harsh Vardhan, Santosh Gangwar, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank quit

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has resigned ahead of the Modi cabinet expansion. Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ also tendered their resignations.

Nishank was Education Minister and Santosh Gangwar held the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment. Both have reportedly given health reasons in their resignation letters.

Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre also resigned from the Union Cabinet on Wednesday. Dhotre, who represents Akola constituency of Maharashtra also took charge as MoS for Education, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology, in May 2019.

Union Minister Debasree Chaudhuri was also relieved just ahead of the Cabinet expansion. She served as the Minister of State for Women and Child Development. Debasree Chaudhuri won elections in 2019 from Raiganj constituency in West Bengal.
