A key meet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with top ministers that was expected on Tuesday evening has reportedly been cancelled. The meeting was slated amid reports of a cabinet reshuffle. The cabinet rejig is expected to take place later this week, media reports said.

Top ministers in the Cabinet, including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and BJP chief JP Nadda, were expected to attend the meeting at the PM's residence.

A discussion on performance of ministers and proposals on future schemes was believed to be the agenda of the meeting.

At least 18 new ministers are expected to be inducted in the Union Cabinet, according to reports.

PM Modi held a meeting with Shah and BJP general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh on Monday to give final touches to the details of a likely expansion of the Union Cabinet, according to PTI.
