Pope Francis ashamed after French clergy scandal expose

Pope Francis on Wednesday expressed 'sadness and pain' on behalf of Roman Catholic Church for the sexual abuse scandal which came to fore a few days ago.

The Pope made these remarks while speaking during his weekly general interaction at the Vatican.

As per report by Associated Press, an estimated 3,30,000 children were sexually abused by French clergy in the past seven decades.

The Pope said he is saddened by the trauma that the children suffered and ashamed by the incapacity of the church.

Saying it is a tough time, the Pope extended his support to French priests
