A day after shooting off a warning letter to the West Bengal govt over the post poll violence, the Centre has deputed a 4-member team to visit the state. The home ministry team will be led by an additional secretary level official and will assess the ground situation in the state. Within hours of Mamata Banerjee taking oath as CM on Wednesday, the home ministry had asked why it had not written back about measures taken to stop the violence after Sunday's election result. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) also took note of the post-poll violence that erupted in West Bengal after assembly election results were announced on May 2. Both the BJP and the Left have accused the Trinamool Congress of attacking their workers amid victory celebrations.
