President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday took the first jab of coronavirus vaccine at RR Hospital in New Delhi, two days after India launched its second phase of the vaccination drive to inoculate people above 60 years and those over 45 with comorbidities against Covid-19.
He was accompanied by his daughter. After the shot, the President thanked doctors, nurses, health workers and administrators who are helping to carry out the drive, and also urged eligible citizens to get their vaccine shots.
