Producers Guild of India condemn vandalism on the sets of 'Ashram 3'

The Producers Guild of India has slammed the vandalism by the Bajrang Dal workers on the sets of Ashram 3 in Bhopal. According to Bajrang Dal, the web series is an "assault on Hinduism".


The incident took place when the shooting was underway at the Old Jail in Arera Hills area of Bhopal when the activists suddenly broke into the premises and attacked filmmaker Prakash Jha and other crew members on the set.

The Producers Guild of India in a statement said, they strongly condemn the brazen acts of violence, harassment and vandalism faced by the crew involved in the production of the series Aashram in Bhopal.


They added, that this is not an isolated incident and the Guild is alarmed to note the frequency with which the production and exhibition sectors are severely and illegally disrupted by various elements with impunity.


The producers guild has also asked the concerned authorities to take immediate action against the perpetrators. 


After the success of Ashram Season 1 and 2, the makers have decided to launch its third season. 


In the web series, actor Bobby Deol essays the role of treacherous Nirala Baba from Kashipur. According to Prakash Jha, the plot in Ashram 3 revolved around the character of Bobby Deol and his downfall.
