At an election rally in Minnesota, Trump talked about the nationwide protests that followed African-American Gorge Floyd’s death with protesters resorting to vandalism, looting and rioting across the country and leaving behind a trail of destruction. Describing the demonstrators as a bunch of thugs, US President Donald Trump said that the protesters, who went violent did not spare even the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Washington DC. Trump said the protesters had no idea what they were doing as they tore down a statue of Gandhi, who just panted peace. The vandalised statue was restored later by the Embassy of India, with the help of National Park Police and the State Department.
