Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and his ministers visited the Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara on Thursday.

Some MLAs and a few officials accompanied Channi, but Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu wasn't a part of the group which paid obeisance at the Kartarpur Sahib.

Sidhu has been intimated that he could go on November 20 instead of November 18.

Sidhu had also submitted his application on Tuesday for travelling to the historic shrine in Pakistan to offer prayers.

The Kartarpur Corridor, which links Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district, reopened on Wednesday. Darbar Sahib is the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev.

Gurupurab, which marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, will be celebrated on November 19.

Pilgrimage to the Kartarpur Sahib gurudwara was suspended in March 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.
