3 players who were once the backbone of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahan, have now been struggling to get a big score under their belt.
Middle order has clearly been an area of concern for India for quite some time now and it once again failed to impress in the 2nd Test vs England. Virat Kohli did manage a fighting 42 but it's nowhere near what the expects from its best batsman. Pujara and Rahane once again got out cheaply for 9 and 1 respectively and failed to capitalise on the good work done by the openers.
Since 2020, the trio has managed just 1 century among them in Tests, when Rahane scored a ton in Australia. Moreover, all 3 players average around 25 during this period. Pujara, who once stood like a rock, hasn't managed a good score in his last 10 innings.
