Despite R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja's monumental efforts, Team India was denied victory as the first Test of the 2 match Test series vs New Zealand ended in a draw.
However, head coach Rahul Dravid had some high praises for the senior bowler, who along with Jadeja collected 7 wickets on the final day. During the Test, the Tamil Nadu based-cricketer took over former cricketer Harbhajan Singh to become India's third-highest wicket-taker in Test format.

Calling him an absolute match-winner, Dravid credited Ashwin for keeping India alive in the game and went on to say that constantly being threatening on wickets like this is a tribute to his skills and ability.
Ashwin who has now collected a total of 419 wickets in 80 Tests has surpassed Singh who took 417 wickets in 103 Tests.
