The BCCI on Tuesday confirmed that Rahul Dravid has officially applied for the post of Team India's head coach. It has been speculated for a while that Dravid is one of the frontrunners to replace Ravi Shastri, whose tenure ends after the T20 World Cup in UAE.
A senior BCCI official told PTI that Dravid's application was just a formality. His team at the NCA, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and fielding coach Abhay Sharma had already applied. According to reports, Dravid is the first choice as Team India head coach for BCCI president Sourav Ganguly as well as BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
