As India moves into the Unlock phase 4, the centre is now planning to run at least 100 more trains in the coming weeks. A senior Railway Ministry official told a news wire that the Indian railways is in consultation with the states over the addition of new trains. While the Home Ministry has yet to approve it, the railway ministry official said that these trains will also be designated as special trains. After the Covid-19 lockdown, the Railways resumed its operation from May 1st for the migrant labours and as of now, 230 express trains are plying across states. The report said it would still take a long time for the full resumption of the transport service.
