After a nervy win in Jaipur, Team India registered a convincing 7-wicket victory against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I in Ranchi on Friday. With that Rohit Sharma's men took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.
Rohit once again won the toss but his decision to put New Zealand into bat seemed to have backfired when they raced to 64/1 in the powerplay overs. But bowlers brought India back into the match in the middle overs. Debutant Harshal Patel stood out with figures of 2/25 as India restricted New Zealand to 153/6.
Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in reply lit up Ranchi with a 117-run opening stand, with both getting to their respective half-centuries. Though India lost 3 wickets but Rishabh Pant's 2 consecutive sixes sealed a comfortable win with 16 balls to spare.
