Reminding the Centre that the pharmaceutical companies are required to provide its entire production of Covid-19 related drugs to it, the Bombay High Court on Tuesday wondered how medicines such as Remdesivir were being bought by private individuals directly from pharma firms.

The court quizzed the Centre as it took note of the alleged distribution of over 10,000 vials of Remdesivir by BJP’s Ahmednagar MP Sujay Vikhe Patil, who bought the medicine in the national capital.

‘Delhi itself is in crisis’, the high court said and asked the Centre’s lawyers ‘doesn’t airlifting 10,000 vials from Delhi by a chartered plane amount to private distribution?
