A Shenzen-based big-data firm with links to the Chinese government, and the Chinese Communist Party, is monitoring over 10,000 Indian individuals and organisations in its global database of “foreign targets,” The Indian Express reported.
Zhenhua Data Information Technology monitors the subject’s digital footprint across social media platforms, keeps track of the target’s friends and relationships, and even tracks geographic location using Artificial Intelligence tools.
The targets identified and monitored in real time include President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a wide range of Indians in politics, business, judiciary, media, and civil society.
