WhatsApp is in trouble yet again. As per a new report, WhatsApp group chats are showing up on Google, which means any person could find or join a private WhatsApp group by just searching on Google.
The Facebook-owned messaging service has not commented on the issue yet. To recall, a similar problem was reported back in June 2019 when an independent cybersecurity researcher had discovered a vulnerability in WhatsApp web portal that leaked over 30,000 users’ mobile numbers.
The numbers, according to the researcher, belonged to users in the US, UK, India and almost all the other countries. They are indexed by Google Search, allowing any Internet user to discover them.
