Reports: 500 million LinkedIn user account details up for sale

According to reports, a large dump of LinkedIn user account data has been put up for sale online, containing around 500 million user records. The data dump reportedly includes email addresses, phone numbers, social media information and other professional details. Reports say the hacker selling the data leaked 2 million records as a sample, proving the legitimacy of the stolen data. LinkedIn has said its investigating the matter, admitting that the hacker seems to have scraped publicly viewable information from the website.
